Awards are not automatically renewed. If you were awarded a scholarship last year and wish to be considered to receive one this year, you will need to re-apply.

In order to apply for this Scholarship, the student must first file the free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submit it before the March 1 deadline as outlined in the FAFSA booklet.

Applications will be scored by a committee of volunteers and awards made based on the funds available, number of applicants, and strength of each individual application.

Preference will be given to students who reside within the boundaries of the 12A Legislative District. To confirm your district for the newly configured maps, please click HERE.

Awards are generally made by the end of June. In the case of High School Seniors, every effort is made to complete award determination decisions in time for the award to be announced at each school’s senior award ceremonies in May and June.

Some exceptions to application and award deadlines may be made in cases where the award is for a semester other than the fall.  Please contact us by email or phone to request an exception to the deadline. Please review the instructions carefully and include all of the requested documentation.

THEY FOUGHT THE LAWN AND THE LAWN LOST IN COLUMBIA:
A LEGISLATIVE SUCCESS STORY

It is especially rewarding to find out that a legislative solution we developed has such far reaching and positive impact - enough to merit a NY Times article.

Following passage, several HOAs reached out with concerns that the statute would unfairly challenge their ability to maintain the home values of their communities. I am happy to say those fears did not manifest, and they have since found that the provisions for reasonableness give them and homeowners the flexibility to be both good environmental stewards and good neighbors and HOA members.

I've been out and about and there is a steady flow at the polls. Books bans and "taking back" are powerful motivators. Please get to the polls by 8pm if you haven't already voted. Our democracy, women's health, the right to inclusive and truthful history and so much more is on the ballot.

Complacency will not move us forward. PLEASE VOTE!
